Hello and Goodbye
We would like to say a big hello to Austin, Ariana, Rohan, Jojo, Mia, De’Andra, James, Shayla, Shakayla, Kayden, Rihanah, Kimberly, Ayla, Ayden and Kyron-Isaac who either joined us at the end of last month or will be joining us this month. We would like to welcome you all to the Bay Tree House family and hope you enjoy your time with us.
Sadly we have had to say goodbye to many children who are leaving us to start school. This month we bid farewell to the last of the Pre-School children, Victor, Adam, Monique, Jeremiah, Maria, Jediah and Kason. We wish them all the best and ask that they come back to visit when they are settled in their new schools.
Celebrating the Diversity within our Nursery
Throughout September and October we will be looking at Trinidad and Tobago as our country of interest. If you are from or have any family connection to there we would really appreciate anything you think would be of interest to the children. We will be looking at traditional food, currency, national dress and where it is situated in the world. If you would like to participate please speak to your child’s keyworker or Shannel.
During July and August we looked at Italy. Thank you to Cecilia, Olivia’s mummy, for providing us with lots of useful words in Italian. The children got involved making pizzas and greeting each other in Italian. Fernanda made the children ‘Melanzane e Zucchini’ which was enjoyed by all.
We held our annual International day in August and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part and to those who cooked. Again we had an abundance of food from a wide range of countries and the vast array of traditional costumes was amazing. The children all had a lovely time playing on the bouncy castle and dancing to music from different countries.
Our Annual trip this year is on Friday 8th September and we will be going to Leysdown-on-Sea where we will use one section of the beach as close to the toilets and Lifeguard huts as possible. The children will be allocated to a named adult and the ratio will be 1 adult to 2 children at all times. This trip is only available to the children who attend Nursery on a Friday due to space on the coach.
Throughout September and October, Blue room will be looking at Dinosaurs and Volcanoes, Yellow rooms theme is ‘all about me’, Red room are looking at ‘All about me’ and ‘Dinosaurs’ and the baby rooms will be looking at Favourite stories
All the rooms will also see the changes that come in Autumn.
Just a reminder to parents that if you wish to use the Night Nursery could you please give us at least 24hrs notice when booking. This is a busy service and it enables us to arrange the staff to meet the correct child/adult ratios.
Our Summer Club has been very busy through the 6 week holidays and our After School children took part in many different outings as well as swimming sessions every week and cooking activities. If any one wishes to use the Summer club you will need to let Shannel know in advance what days you need so she can plan ahead.
Our last Inset day of the year will be on Thursday 26th October. It is a requirement of Ofsted that we have 3 training days a year so the Nursery will be closed on this day. We have a trainer coming into Nursery to deliver an ‘Effective communication Skills’ workshop. This will cover core elements of communication, the impact of positive and negative body language, how to build a rapport with parents and colleagues and how to inspire and motivate.
