Hello and Goodbye
We would like to say a big hello to Elliot who is joining our Upper Baby Room and Frederick who is joining our Lower Baby room. We would like to welcome them both to Bay Tree House and we hope they enjoy their time with us.
This month we have to say a sad goodbye to Honey who is leaving our yellow room. We would like to wish her all the very best and hope to see her in the New year.
Celebrating the Diversity within our Nursery
Throughout November and December we will be looking at Barbados as our country of interest. The children will learn about the currency used, traditional costumes, what colours are in their flag and different foods that are popular from there. If you are interested in providing any information or would like to come in and cook to help us make this really interesting for the children please speak to your child’s keyworker.
The United States of America
In September and October we looked at The United States of America as our country of interest. The children looked at the currency used, traditional costumes, the flag of the USA and popular food. A big thank you to Melissa, Joel, Maddie and Christian, (Asher and Lachlan’s parents) for coming in to nursery. They made Corndogs, corn bread and Apple pie for the children and staff to enjoy and played lots of America songs. The children enjoyed the food, as did the staff, and after tea they all joined in dancing.
Theme of the month
The children will be looking at festivals, celebrations and winter as their themes for November and December. Blue rooms letter of the month is ‘C’ and if the children can find any packaging, leaflets, etc with numbers on can they bring them in also.
Thank you to all parents who went on line to give their support in our new venture. We are still awaiting the outcome of the planning permission but will let parents know when we receive an answer.
Our Inset day was a big success and we would like to thank all parents who attended. We had an independent EYFS consultant and trainer who came to speak about how staff and parents can work in partnership together and she also did an introduction to maths. It was a very informative day and a good chance for parents and staff to meet away from the nursery.
We had our last parents evening of the year in October which hopefully gave parents the opportunity to speak with their child’s keyworker. Thank you to those parents who attended as we know it can be difficult finding alternative care for your child.
General House keeping
A reminder to all parents that if you leave your pushchairs in the buggy shed they need to be folded down. If any are left open they will be removed from the shed and left on the drive. We are also noticing that scooters/bikes and other ride on toys are also being left and ask that you avoid bringing these to nursery. If any are found in the shed we will put them in the garden for the children to use.
