Newsletter June 2017
Hello and Goodbye
We would like to say a big hello to Drue who is joining our Lower Baby, Joey who is joining Blue Room and Hao, Jasmine, Liliana and Kierra who have joined the weekend nursery. A big welcome to Bay Tree House and we hope they enjoy their time with us.
Sadly this month we are saying goodbye to Sunny from Blue room, David from Red room and Lachlan from Upper baby room. We will miss you all.
Celebrating the Diversity within our Nursery
Throughout June we will continue looking at Lithuania as our country of interest. The children have been learning about the currency used, traditional stories, what colours are in their flag, different foods that are popular from there and interesting facts about Lithuania. Freddie’s mum has kindly provided lots of information, recipes and words for the children.
Theme of the month
In June the baby rooms will continue looking at ‘Under the Sea’ and Blue, Red and Yellow rooms will continue with ‘Oceans’ and ‘Sports Health’. We will also be celebrating Father’s Day.
We have our second Inset day of the year on the 5th June and again we are inviting the parents to attend. We have hired the function room in the Jubilee ground on Canadian Avenue and have an independent EYFS consultant and trainer coming in to speak about how staff and parents can work in partnership together, transition to school and school readiness. The previous two Inset days where we invited the parents were a great success. The session will be from 9.30-12.30 and a buffet lunch will be provided after. We will be opening the nursery from 9-3pm for the children of the parents who will be attending the Inset Day. If you do wish to attend can you please let Shannel know as soon as possible.
The Sainsbury’s vouchers have now finished and we have collected 4,542. That
is an amazing amount and we would like to thank all the parents and staff that have made this possible. Over the next month we will decide what new equipment we are going to spend our vouchers on.
Our Annual Sports day will be taking place on Monday 12th June at Mountsfield Park from 9.30am. This is organised by Pro Stars Soccer who run our weekly sessions at nursery. All parents are invited to attend and we hope to see you taking part in the mum’s and dad’s races. The children have been practising the different events they will be taking part in every week and are all looking forward to it.
General House keeping
A reminder to all parents that if you leave your pushchairs in the buggy shed they need to be folded down. If any are left open they will be removed from the shed and left on the drive. We are also noticing that scooters/bikes and other ride on toys are also being left and ask that you avoid bringing these to nursery. If any are found in the shed we will put them in the garden for the children to use.
We have been experiencing some lovely hot weather over the last couple of weeks so can you please ensure your child’s Blue bag has the correct clothing in it for this time of year and that they have sun cream and Sun hats. If your child wears nappies can you please bring them some ‘Little Swimmer nappies’ for any outdoor water play they may have.
