HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Welcome back after the Christmas and New Year break. We hope you all had a lovely time and didn’t over do it with the mince Pies and Christmas pudding!!. Also, thank you to all the parents for the lovely cards and gifts. We are still working our way through all the chocolate that came in. Bay Tree House wishes you all a very Happy New Year.
We would like to say a big hello to Rudy, Flynn, Ceianna, Anthony, Marnie, Nellina and Angus who have joined the Nursery. We welcome you all to the Bay Tree House family and hope you enjoy your time with us.
Celebrating the Diversity within our Nursery
In January and February we will be looking at India as our Country of interest. The children will look at the currency used, National dishes, the map and flag of India and traditional costume. If any parent/carers have any input, facts, activities or are indeed from India there are many ways you can get involved. Reading a story in your home language or singing songs can be great for
the children who speak the same language as well as the children who don’t. If you would like to cook a traditional Indian meal or even do a cooking activity with the children please let your child’s keyworker know.

Closing date for School applications
For those Parents that have children due to start school in September 2018, the closing date for applications is just before midnight on January 15th. Parents need to ensure their applications are submitted in time. This is for children born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014.
Sadly, in December, we had to cancel the Transport trip for the children in Blue Room due to bad weather. Part of that trip was for the children to go on the Emirates cable cars and we were told this would not run in the stormy weather. We have now planned for this trip to go ahead on Monday 22nd January. Your child’s keyworker will remind you nearer to the date what you will need bring in on the day.
Could all parents ensure that any clothes, coats, scarves etc. that come into Nursery has the name of your child on it. We have been accumulating different items of clothing that no one has claimed. We will be placing any unidentified clothes left in the nursery into a Lost Property Box which we will leave in the cloakroom for parents to look through.
Also, if your child comes home wearing Nursery clothes could you please wash and return them back to us.
Can all parents check their child’s wall pocket in the room each day on collection. There may be letters for you or artwork that your child has done that needs to go home. This is one way for us to keep you up to date with any information along with the ‘My Nursery Child’ system.
For health and safety reasons, the children are not allowed to wear hoop earrings to Nursery. Please make sure your child only wears a small pair of stud earrings while attending Nursery.
We have been experiencing some very wet weather over the last month but this should not stop your child from having fun playing outdoors. Can you please make sure they have the appropriate clothing and that they have a pair of wellingtons that can be left at Nursery. Any other bags or rucksacks that have been left on your child’s peg need to be taken home and only their Blue bags left on their pegs.

We wish you all a very happy birthday!
