Newsletter January 2017
Happy New Year
Welcome back to nursery and we hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a nice rest. Bay Tree House would like to wish you all a very happy 2017.
Hello and Goodbye
We would like to say a big hello to Faith, Jasmithan, Amira-Rose and De’Jahn who are joining the Bay Tree House family. We would like to welcome them to Bay Tree House and we hope they enjoy their time with us. At the end of last month we had to say a sad goodbye to Kirsty who has moved to Scotland and Meriyam who will be starting school. We would like to wish them all the very best in the New Year.
Celebrating the Diversity within our Nursery
Throughout January and February we will be looking at Australia as our country of interest. The children will learn about the currency used, traditional costumes, what colours are in their flag, different foods that are popular from there and the amazing animals that can be found in Australia. If you are interested in providing any information or would like to come in and cook to help us make this really interesting for the children please speak to your child’s keyworker.
Theme of the month
The baby rooms theme is ‘All about me’ and Blue, Red and Yellow rooms will be looking at ‘The Human Body’. The Pre-school children will also be learning the names of body parts as part of their Spanish Curriculum.
The Nursery will also be celebrating Chinese New Year which starts on Saturday 28th January and this year is the year of the Rooster.

Christmas Party 2016
Our Christmas Party was a huge success and it was lovely to see everyone there. Dainty Sue put on another fantastic show and the children’s performance with Annie for the parents was really good. Thank you to Sandra and Shonda for the lovely food they prepared, this was enjoyed by all.
Thank you to all parents who went on line to give their support in our new venture. We are still awaiting the outcome of the planning permission but will let parents know when we receive an answer.
General House keeping
A reminder to all parents that if you leave your pushchairs in the buggy shed they need to be folded down. If any are left open they will be removed from the shed and left on the drive. We are also noticing that scooters/bikes and other ride on toys are also being left and ask that you avoid bringing these to nursery. If any are found in the shed we will put them in the garden for the children to use.
The colder weather is really here now but this should not stop your child from having fun playing outdoors. Can you please make sure they have the appropriate outdoor clothing for this time of year and also check that your child’s blue bag contains winter spare clothes and that they have a pair of wellingtons that can be left at nursery.
Children in need
A big Thank you to everyone who took part in the Children in need Fundraiser. We raised an amazing £284.97. Thank you to everyone who contributed, especially Shonda, for all the meals she made, Sandra for making Jollof rice to sell and Chrystal for volunteering for the ‘Pie in the face’ challenge.
We wish you all a very happy birthday!
